Chicago, Illinois

This is a shot of the NBC tower. I had to go to the Korean consulate there several times to get my work visa processed. I shot this from a nearby penthouse, where a scene for upcoming series "The Chicago Code" was being filmed.

Seoul International Drum Festival 2010

These guys were from Japan. I didn't enjoy their performance, so I left.

Some North Korean Style Stew

This North Korean style soup had beef, mushrooms, vegetables, dumplings, ginko berries and pine nuts. Because of the cooler weather in North Korea, hot peppers are harder to grow and not generally associated with the cuisine there.

This raw beef was unique and is served in only a small number of restaurants in Korea. It had pickled onions and some different sprouts inside.

The entertainment was top-notch as well.

Flight cancelled

Denver International Airport concourse atrium. I flew on United which has a its hub in Denver.

My flight to Hawaii was cancelled due to hydraulic equipment failure. So much for sunset cocktails on Lanikai. I ended up watching TV in a Best Western in San Francisco instead.

Climbing near Keystone

My older brother was showing my younger brother how to do sport climbing with a rope.

I didn't participate because I got sick on the flight from Japan.

El Salvadoran Festival in MacArthur Park

Narita Station

I bought a ticket to Narita with my credit card, but I couldn't buy a ticket back to the airport from Narita with my creidt card. Actually I couldn't exchange cash or use my credit cards anywhere in Narita. No place would accept them, so I accosted the nicest little Japanese family at a convenience store and gave them 4 dollars for 300 yen. I bought a ticket back to the airport and a Japanese sports drink from the vending machine. Instead of seeing the temple, I walked around the station for an hour stressing about getting back to the airport on time. Admittedly, it was a big gamble trying to do some tourist stuff with a 3 hour lay over. In the end, it wasn't worth it.

Artreon Movie theater

We went to see the "Knight and Day" movie at the Artreon movie theater in Idae near Sinchon. While we were waiting for the elevator I stuck my camera out an open window.

Macro extension

I bought the ex-25 macro extension tube for my camera a few months ago but haven't had a chance to use it much. Here's one of my first shots.

View from the top

This is a picture from Marco Polo, the restaurant on the 52nd floor of the Trade Center in Gangnam. You can't see the financial district or most of Gangnam. Instead, you see the Apgujeong area and Seoul to the north.

Seoul Auto Show 2010

I went to the convention center at COEX mall to see the Auto Show.

I got a lot of shots of the models. The portraits came out the best. Here are a few.

My impression of the show is that there were a lot of photographers. That was the majority of the crowd. Actually the biggest advertiser there was Nikon from what I could tell.
